The Charmborough Ring
Added:
The Charmborough Ring is a mobile belfry with 6 bells hung for full circle ringing, as developed, mainly in England, from the seventeenth century onwards.
The Ring was designed and built by Matthew Higby using bells cast by Richard Bowditch, and made its first public appearance at the Ringing Road Show in 2005. Since then, it has been taken to around 200 different events.
The Charmborough visited Victoria Park in Frome as part of RING OUT on Saturday 8th July 2023.
Led by Charmborough Ring officer Roger Booth and volunteer experienced ringers many people enjoyed ringing: ringers, non ringers, the Mayor, people of all ages.
