RING OUT Finale - A Miscellany of Bells
Added:
The idea behind RING OUT was to raise the profile of bells and bell-ringing and draw attention to a little celebrated industrial family of Frome, The Cockey family of bell-founders.
Another theme was collaboration - between historians, bell -ringers and musicians. RING OUT’s Finale, A Miscellany of Bells focussed on this idea of collaboration.
In the first part of the evening, bell-ringer David Parfrey gave a talk about bell-founding and bell-ringing. The second part of the event saw the world premiere of Helen Ottaway’s Full Circle, a new piece for tower bells and ensemble. The evening was punctuated with handbell tunes.
